Help Nancy Conquer Stage 4 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family & Community,
We are reaching out to elevate awareness of this rare but rapidly increasing type of cancer and help our Mom through the support of our family, friends and community.
Our Mom, Nancy, battles an incredibly tough diagnosis of Stage 4 small cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the rectum with metastasis- this is a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Our world was turned upside down with the news we received in April 2024 but we are determined to carry her with our love and support every step of the way.
Nancy’s Journey So Far
Mom has always been a source of strength, love, and inspiration for those around her. She has raised a family of 6 children, is a loving Nana to her 5 grandchildren, a devoted wife to Jay for 25 years, a sister, a daughter, and a caring friend. Life is beautiful, although not without struggles, as we all have experienced.
Today she is enduring one of her toughest challenges.
Neuroendocrine small cell carcinoma is an uncommon and complex cancer, with few clinical trials, research or curative treatments.
Despite the prognosis, Mom is showing incredible courage. She’s undergoing treatment here in Canada but is in need of further medical care, specialists, testing and ongoing treatments that are not offered here. We hope that these treatments will give her the best chance of a curative outcome!
Her mission is to raise awareness and offer hope to those facing cancer by sharing her story while creating a supportive space for others to share their experiences.
How you can help!
- Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant impact.
- Share: Please share this campaign with your network and encourage others to get involved.
- Pray or Send Positive Thoughts: If you prefer to add her to your prayers or send her positive energy/ messages/encouragement please do!
Mom’s symbol of hope throughout this journey has been a yellow butterfly. She and others have seen a yellow butterfly many times throughout her journey and it symbolizes positivity, hope, and transformation. Mom has also always had a deep connection to nature and the outdoors. With that, we’ve included a link to David Suzuki’s Butterfly Way project that promotes habitats for butterflies and bees across Canada. Please feel free to learn more in the link below, become a ranger in your community, or donate to their cause.
If you would prefer to donate directly to Neuroendocrine cancer research please donate to the Canadian Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (CNETS). You can donate in honour of Nancy by selecting “I’d like to dedicate this gift” then selecting “In Honour of” and typing “Nancy Gordon”.
If anyone has stories, information, or positive words that they would like to directly share with our Mom please leave a comment and Bridget will reach out to you directly.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, prayers and generosity. It means the world to us as we navigate this challenging journey.
With love and gratitude,
