Charley Howard and Nancy Buchan are long-time residents of Dominical, Costa Rica.  Nancy is a world class fiddle player who has played with countless big names.  She was well known in New Orleans where they lived until Katrina led them to full-time living in Costa Rica.  Nancy plays music locally and teaches violin at the music school in San Isidro.  Charlie is well know as a promoter of music and helping tourists.  Local children know him best as Santa. 

It has been extremely difficult to make a living during Covid.  A few months ago, the engine in their Mitsubishi blew up.  They scrimped and saved to finally replace the motor in late February.  

Then  on March 2nd around 1:20am, while they slept,  their 2009 silver/grey Mitsubishi Montero was hot-wired and stolen from their private driveway off the main road of Dominical. What a blow!  There is no more money to replace the car and it will now be even more difficult to make it to the few music gigs available and to the school to teach lessons which start up in person next week.   

It would be awesome to help fund a reliable vehicle that can get Nancy and Charlie to San Isidro, Quepos, San Jose, and up our 4wd roads for music events.  A reliable 4wd in Costa Rica will cost anywhere between $8000-$13,000.   Several friends around the world have mentioned that you want to help.  If you want to  donate money, this is an easy way to do it.
