Help Nancy and Her Mom Rebuild After Surrey Condo Fire

I am Jack Xu and created this fundraiser for my friend Nancy and her mother Grace. The donations from this fundraiser will be sent to Nancy as the beneficiary from GoFundMe.

On July 12th, 2025, a devastating fire tore through a condo building in Surrey, B.C., displacing over 100 residents—including our dear friend Nancy and her mother. While the flames didn’t originate in their unit, theirs was directly next to the one that did and has tragically been declared a total loss.

Nancy and her mom have not only lost their home, but also every one of their personal belongings—clothes, furniture, cherished memories—all gone in an instant. And sadly, none of their contents were insured. Their insurance coverage had been tied to Nancy’s grandfather, who recently passed away. With the policy no longer active, they are now left to start over from scratch.

Though the building is insured by the strata, repairs are expected to take minimum two years. In the meantime, Nancy’s mom must continue paying the mortgage on a home she can’t live in—while also renting temporary housing, covering all the expenses that come with rebuilding their lives from the ground up.

Nancy and her mom have always been generous, kind, and full of strength—but right now, they need our help.

We’re raising funds to help them with:

• Temporary housing and rent

• Essential day-to-day needs (clothing, toiletries, food, etc.)

• Replacing furniture and household items

• Any additional costs related to relocation and recovery
