Hello, my name is Nanci Memory.
As a 73-year-old woman, I feel a strong desire to share my life’s journey and the experiences that have shaped my path. Growing up in the beautiful city of Stockton, California, I consider myself fortunate to have dedicated a significant portion of my life to a profession I hold dear. As a dance teacher, choreographer, and director, I have cherished my time both at my dance studio and on the stages of San Joaquin Delta College and the University of the Pacific, where I have had the joy of bringing many productions to life.
My husband, Bill Memory, and I shared nearly 50 wonderful years. He was the proud owner of Memory’s Dance and Theater Shop, where his expertise in inventory control shone brightly. It was fascinating to see him transition from managing nuts and bolts to the vibrant world of tights and leotards, showcasing his remarkable adaptability and passion.
While Bill and I did not have children of our own, we shared a wealth of love as we nurtured my son, his son, his daughter, and his stepdaughter. Our family bond was truly special.
It is with a heavy heart that I reflect on the loss of my dear friend to COPD about a year and a half ago. We were enjoying a tranquil evening together in our favorite chairs, watching a program, when he stood to find a more comfortable position. In a heartbreaking moment, he fell and, unfortunately, did not recover. I sincerely miss him, and I hold our cherished memories close to my heart. His presence truly enriched my life.
We’re about to discover the true meaning of “alone” when we finally experience solitude in its fullest sense.
I’ve experienced numerous significant events, which have led me to believe I can manage being alone as well. But I was wrong.
Facing loneliness is just one of the challenges I'm navigating. The sole financial support I received was a modest policy from his employment. After settling the funeral costs, there was little remaining. My monthly income has decreased significantly and is not enough to meet my needs. While I am diligently working on selling some of my assets, I understand that this is a gradual process that takes time.
I find myself in a challenging situation, as my home is facing pre-foreclosure. I would appreciate your help and support during this difficult time. Thank you.
Any donation you can make will help me on a day-to-day basis and will be greatly appreciated. Your generosity will not be forgotten.
