Hi everyone,

I’m putting together a Gofundme account for Nana. About 3 weeks ago, Nana (Ellen) unexpectedly had to have an emergency 9 hour vascular surgery. Our family is incredibly grateful for South Shore Hospital’s Vascular team who saved her life and both of her legs. We are also very appreciative to all the nurses, hospitalists, nursing assistants, physical therapists and occupational therapists in both the Critical Care Unit and Pratt 4 south who took such great care of Nana.

Since Nana went in for surgery, she has returned to the OR a second time and had to remain admitted in the hospital for 2.5 weeks. Nana is now requiring acute rehab at Spaulding and has a very long road ahead of her.

At this time she does not have full sensation in her legs and is unable to walk. She is going to require extensive wound care and therapy to regain function of her legs.

Since nana raised my siblings and has been our absolute rock since mom died, I am trying to help her in anyway I can.

It is my goal to get her home by raising money to supply her home with proper medical equipment and environmental accommodations because of this unexpected event.
