Help Sue with Medical Costs

Sue, a mother, wife, daughter, Aunt, cousin, friend, Nana, and great Nana. The glue that holds the family together. The tradition keeper, the recipe queen, the lover of all things Pug. She is an avid beach goer, a camper, a Disney lover and enjoys spending time with family always.

Our journey began in 2009 when Sue was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She went through surgery, chemo and radiation treatments. She has always been a stubborn fighter, but in this case it helped us get through! Years later we found out she had breast cancer for a second time. We relived the same routine. It was all too familiar. Yet again, she prevailed.

Moving to January of 2020 Sue was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer that had spread to her major organs. Liver, ribs, kidney and bones. She has been taking medications and receiving infusions religiously. Due to the severity of this cancer she was forced to stop working.

They cannot cure her this time, but they hope to "freeze" the cancer and stop it from spreading. Unfortunately, she had a brain scan which showed six lesions on her brain telling us it has spread. She underwent a very invasive form of radiation in which a metal "halo" had to be affixed to her head to keep her still during this one time radiation. They attempted to put direct radiation on those six lesions in hopes to shrink or get rid of them. I will keep this page updated during her treatment plan.

She received generous donations from her colleagues of sick time which would have carried her through the rest of her life still receiving full pay checks. Last week we were told by her employer of over 20 years, that due to her reaching her 100th day without physically working, she would have to resign or come back to work. Due to her severe dizzy spells, fainting, nausea and weakness this is not a possibility for her. They removed all donated sick days, and she has been forced into retirement, only getting a portion of her pay moving forward. Her infusions alone are $200 per month out of pocket. We are working on applying for grants for her medications and treatments. Anything donated will be used to keep her comfortable at home, assist with medical and household bills and keep her stress free. She has been unable to rest not knowing how she can continue to afford treatment.

Anything you are able to help with is much appreciated! God bless you and yours. Stay safe and healthy during this time.
