I’m Stephanie, I’m a friend of Lucy Kulum, and I am fundraising on her behalf.
About three weeks ago, Lucy’s roof in Guatemala caved in. She has been able to fix a small part of it but mostly it is open, with water coming in. Unfortunately she will also need to eventually replace her walls as well since they are adobe, but right now we are just focused on her getting the money she needs for a new roof.
She doesn’t have access to a loan, like we would in the US. And currently she is also sick because of the situation in her home with so much water and humidity and no ability to fix the situation.
Lucy is Tz’utujil Maya, from around Lake Atitlán in Guatemala, where she lives with her sons. She is a remarkable, loving, gentle, beautiful person who with a full heart and the support of generations of Tz’utujil ancestors, she offers womb massage, ancestral lineage healing sessions, temazcal, and sanango ceremonies. Lucy is an Elder, teacher, herbalist, huesera, and is deeply rooted in the work of her lineage. Her presence and her heart are much needed during these difficult times. To know her is to love her!
Please join me with any donation you are comfortable making, along with collective prayers for comfort and protection for Lucy and her family. She will be humbled and overjoyed to know people so far away are thinking about her and caring for her.
