On October 13, 2021, My Mother, Nalisha Martin, was tragically shot and killed. At the age of 43, my mom was the oldest daughter of nine siblings and worked as a certified nurse's assistant. My Mother was outgoing and full of love for all who knew her. As she navigated heart failure and diabetes, my Mother was a strong woman who persevered through her entire life. She was simply on her way to my aunt's house when her life was taken.

 

As my sisters, Jermesha (21), Najaniah (18), and I Jermeelah (20) navigate the unexpected loss of our Mother, we ask for assistance in her funeral arrangements. We are left alone to deal with paying rent, bills and ensuring the proper burial for my Mother. We do not have the means to properly fund the funeral arrangements ourselves; we are hoping to raise $10,000 to ensure that the cost of the burial is covered.
