Help Nala Recover from Traumatic Attack

We are heartbroken that it has come to this. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my beloved dog, Nala. She is a 9-year-old Shiba Inu/Terrier mix with a big personality packed into her tiny body. Right now she’s in critical condition after a traumatic attack. On Saturday May 17th, Nala was attacked by another dog. She’s only 13 pounds and the other dog must have been at least 100. The injuries were devastating and she suffered a large laceration to her back right leg and needed emergency surgery.

We were hopeful after the first procedure, but our worst fears came true when her tissue began turning necrotic. The emergency surgeon at Oradell Animal Hospital explained that the tearing of her skin during the attack likely damaged the blood supply leading to tissue death. Since then, Nala has been in and out of the hospital, receiving intensive care including surgery, medications, and overnight monitoring. We’re doing everything we can to fight for her life and comfort, but the costs are overwhelming.

We’ve already estimated nearly $10,000 in medical expenses, and it may continue to grow. We’re humbly asking for $8,000 to help cover:

• Emergency surgery

• Hospital stays

• Medications

• Ongoing treatment and wound care
