Help Nala Cover Her Life-Saving Endoscopy & Care
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
I’m raising funds to help my baby girl cat, Nala, recover after a sudden and scary medical emergency.
She suddenly stopped eating (which she usually loves), became lethargic, and began vomiting multiple times within just a few hours. I rushed her to a 24-hour emergency vet.
After multiple tests, sleepless nights, and hoping for improvement, nothing was clearly visible so they had to bring in a specialist for an abdominal ultrasound. That’s when she was finally diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and pancreatitis.
The first ER visit alone, with exams and testing, cost around $1,500. The results of that visit were inconclusive. When she still wasn’t eating 20 hours later, accompanied by vomiting continuously, we returned for the ultrasound, which alone cost $930. She had to be hospitalized to get fluids since she couldn’t keep anything down. Altogether, the total vet bill came out to about $3,750.
Unfortunately, we’ve now learned that we’re not done yet. While the ultrasound showed signs of IBD, the vet says that the only way to confirm this diagnosis and to rule out lymphoma (a type of cancer) they need to perform a biopsy. IBD and lymphoma can look nearly identical on scans, so this step is critical for making sure Nala gets the right treatment. I’m doing everything I can to support her recovery, but this unexpected and ongoing medical situation has been incredibly overwhelming.
The biopsy and follow-up care will add significantly to her total cost of care.
Nala is still fighting she’s my lovable best friend and has a strong chance at recovering with the right diagnosis and treatment. I’m hoping to raise $1,200 to help cover part of her emergency vet bill, the biopsy, and the medications she’ll need going forward. Any support, whether through a donation or just sharing this, would mean the world to me and Nala. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
