Help Nala Recover from Dog Attack

Our sweet 8 month old dachshund puppy, Nala, was attacked by a pit bull while we were on a camping trip this past weekend. It was our first full day, Nala's first camping trip, and we had just decided to go for a walk down the road to see more of the campground. As we were passing the 6th campsite away from ours, a 60lb pit bull at this site took notice of Nala. It charged at us, broke free from its leash, and clamped down around Nala's back, picking her up. It was so frightening. The owner of this dog did not have it on a strong enough leash and did not catch it in time. We rushed our little 8lb Nala to the animal hospital to find out that she had experienced severe trauma, had a punctured lung muscle, a couple broken ribs, extensive bruising, and may potentially not survive.

Nala has spent 4 days in the hospital and racked up heavy medical expenses. We filed a police report and asked for the owner's of the attacking dog to cover her medical expenses, only to discover that these people are homeless, unemployed, and have very little that they own... Thus, we are left having to figure out how to cover Nala's medical expenses on our own.

Since we have already had multiple people reach out and ask if there is any way they can help, we have decided to create this GoFundMe for Nala. Any amount is so helpful to us, and we appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts! We know Nala is not a person, but she is the only other member of our family right now. We were so incredibly broken-hearted at the possibility of losing her so soon :( Most importantly, we just ask that you please pray for Nala to recover quickly and without any further complications! She has been such a little fighter, and even the vets expressed how optimistic she had been for them, given her condition. Thank you so much for your help, and God bless!!
