Nala has been by my side as a service dog for years, she’ll be turning 7 this June. Nala went through extensive training as a lil pup to assist me day-to-day and our bond now is unmatched. She has dedicated her life to helping me through every challenge. We also worked together to find a new purpose- bringing comfort and joy to residents in assisted living. She quickly became a beloved member of their community, offering soo much love to the residents. When she isn’t working, Nala enjoys snuggles with me and with her stuffed animals, she enjoys time outside and people watching. She also enjoys teaching and playing with her little brother Bear.
Recently, she’s faced some concerning health challenges. She needs to have a tumor on her head removed, as well X-rays for two suspected torn ccls. (The human equivalent of an acl). The surgery is called a TPLO - and each leg takes a few months to recover from. The rehabilitation time will be extensive, but with added support Nala could receive extended physical therapy and treatment.
These procedures are urgent and essential for her well-being, and the costs are overwhelming. I want to do everything I can to give her the care she deserves, so she can continue to bring happiness to not only myself, but everyone around her.
Asking for help isn’t easy, especially from outside the family, but I know how much she means to so many people. If you’re able to support her care, it would mean the world to us. Any funds that aren’t needed for her treatment will be donated to The Canine Companions service dog organization, to help their community and future service dogs and their handlers.
Thank you for loving Nala and being part of her journey.
