Help Nala Get Life-Saving Dental Surgery

Hello, I’m Shayne, and this is my cat Nala. I’m 18, and Nala is 6 years old.

Nala is a vocal cat, with a mysterious and nonchalant attitude, while also being super affectionate. I found Nala in my closet on Easter morning 2019, and I instantly was drawn to him. Once he was old enough, I immediately knew I had to keep him; it would hurt too much to let him go. Thankfully, I didn’t have to, and Nala became mine.

After the first few years of his life, I noticed his breath became worse, his teeth were covered in plaque, and his mouth overall didn’t look good. It stayed this way for quite some time until I was finally able to afford him an appointment, as he had stopped eating, and I was left with no other choice. Unfortunately, I knew he couldn’t handle the pain much longer.

At this vet appointment, I found out he has a genetic disorder, affecting his gums to be inflamed, and to have tooth root damage. This concerned me greatly, especially knowing at my age, I really don’t have the funds for the extensive procedure he’ll need.

In the meantime of trying to find a course of action to help him, he’s been able to take pain medication and antibiotics, which have turned him into a completely new cat. For once, he has an appetite, he became way more affectionate, much less skittish, and much more confident in himself.

I love to see the way he feels when he’s not in pain for once, but he can only stay on the medication for so long before that could affect him as well. Which is why trying anything to be able to get this for him is worth a shot.
