Help Nala Beat Lymphoma

Anyone who knows Anna knows how much Nala, her golden retriever, means to her. In fact, when I met her four years ago, her obsession with Nala was just about the first thing I learned about her - Anna’s face lights up when she talks about her. She sprinkles Nala into every conversation she can. Everyday, I see another Snap or Instagram story of Nala splashing around in water or destroying toys on the couch or greeting Anna at the door with her oh-so-creepy smile.

Needless to say, Anna was devastated when Nala was diagnosed with lymphoma on August 12th, 2021, not even five years old yet. After a couple weeks of her expressing concern that Nala wasn’t eating, and she didn’t have much energy, a couple lumps were found. The vet ran tests and determined it was cancer, and Anna spoke to an oncologist as soon as possible to determine next steps. She decided to pursue chemo to give Nala as much time as possible.

The tests alone were over $600. The chemo treatments will be around $500 per week for 20 weeks. Nala will require steroids and other meds. Her lack of appetite means Anna will be buying and making her more exciting food rather than her more affordable kibble.

All of these costs will be out of pocket.
