On Monday May 20th, my uncle Nakia James White was shot by a hateful man with a shotgun. Nakia was placed on a ventilator due to the trauma his left lung took from the bullet itself as well as the impact. His heart eventually became weakened as well. We as a family met with the trauma team on Thursday May 30th, and were told that essentially his lungs and heart were growing weaker instead of stronger and he was only surviving because of the machine. This led to us having to make the difficult decision to remove him from the ventilator on Friday May 31st. With his untimely passing, Nakia was able to help save 2 lives due to being an organ donor. My uncle had fought through many battles in his lifetime and this is just not something we expected. My grandmother (as would the rest of us) would like to give him a proper memorial service and unfortunately needs help in doing so. So please find it in your heart to help us reach our goal. Uncle Nikko you are no longer suffering but free to be the smiley, life-of-the-party, silly soul we know. We will always remeber you and we will always love you.
