Help Me Afford Double Jaw Surgery

Hi! My name is Naia (they/them) and I have a facial deformity. :) I have a class III underbite and a crossbite and I am scheduled to have surgery in the summer. I have dealt with this my entire life and besides the aesthetic issues, which have affected my mental health greatly, I have suffered from trouble sleeping, poor chewing, TMJ, and gastrointestinal discomfort.

Growing up, my family could not afford dental work, let alone surgery. So as soon as I had health insurance and access to dental care, I pursued the journey that was fixing my jaw. I have braces through a dental school, and they paired me with a wonderful surgeon. He is out of network, however, so the surgery fees aren't covered by insurance. This is where I need your help.

I am fundraising for $37,000 to cover my surgery and hospital fees. I am optimistic that I will receive immense generosity from my community, but my plan is to take out a medical loan to cover the remainder if not all of the cost after this fundraiser. Your donation would help me lessen the burden of medical debt, which will absolutely help me heal after this surgery.

I have been waiting my entire life for this moment and I worked really hard to get to this place. It would mean the world to me if you could help me so that this journey doesn't end with me in a huge pile of medical debt and stress.

The healing process is also brutal and I will not be able to open my mouth to chew for 6 months or so and will be on an entirely liquid diet for at least 2 weeks. This isn't something I want to do for fun or for vanity. This is something I know will have a profound effect on the quality of my life and to miss this opportunity would be a waste. Please help me achieve my dream of having a normal mouth and normal tummy!!!

" As a courtesy to our patients, we are pleased to offer you a “prompt-pay” discount on the portion of the

“Professional Fee” for which you are financially responsible if you make your payment two weeks

prior to your procedure. Our “prompt-pay” for your procedure is: $25,000.00 ($12,500.00 per jaw),

prompt pay + $4,500.00 genioplasty + $1,000.00 (of $1000), deductible, subject to change =

$30,500.00 (Upper & Lower jaw &chin)"

"We know that the non-covered fees are less than $2k so to be safe it would be about $6,500 for [hospital] fees."
