Hey! My name is Nadya López. I am hoping to put up a student-led production of RENT this upcoming Fall at SCAD. I will be directing and choreographing alongside my amazingly talented partner, Silas Johnson, who will be the Music Director of this project. We are hoping to build an ensemble of artists with a wide variety of races, ethnicities, and gender identities while striving to build a more inclusive space in this art form.

RENT is a story that uses rock music as the driving force, tackling themes such as community, identity, rebellion, and survival. Learning how to live authentically as well as you can for as long as you can. This story is a reminder that life is such a beautiful thing. It should never be taken for granted; live it to the fullest because there’s no day but today.
