Hi, my name is Kass, and I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my dear friend Nadisha and her family.

The recent hurricane Melissa that tore through Jamaica has left her entire family in devastation. Many of their loved ones’ homes have been damaged or completely destroyed, and communication has been difficult. Nadisha, her husband, and their daughter have been living with the pain of not hearing from several close family members since the storm. The waiting, the uncertainty, and the helplessness have been heartbreaking. Her community Burnt Ground Ramble in Hanover has been rocked with devastation along with her extended family in Meggie Top, Salt Spring in St. James. There is no running water, no internet, no supplies, no food and the dock in Montego Bay in which they receive items has been destroyed.

As anyone who knows her can tell you, Nadisha is family first, she’s the one who always shows up, the one who gives, and the one who loves with her whole heart. She’s now gathering food, clothing, and essentials to bring back to Jamaica to help her loved ones get back on their feet. But the emotional and financial burden of doing this alone has been overwhelming.

This GoFundMe is to help Nadisha support her family, to help her parents, siblings, cousins, and extended relatives rebuild what they’ve lost. Every dollar will go directly toward her efforts to provide food, shelter materials, and other basic necessities for her loved ones back home.
