Help Nadine Hold On While She Heals and Rebuilds
Asking for help does not come easily to Nadine.
She is someone who has spent her life caring for others—professionally and personally. Nadine has worked for years as a caretaker for elderly individuals and animals, offering patience, dignity, and steadiness to those who needed it most. She is also deeply woven into her community through decades of involvement in local theater, where she and her late father, Tom, were known not just for their talent, but for their kindness and generosity of spirit.
Today, Nadine finds herself in a place she never imagined.
She is living across the country from the people and community who know her best. She is divorced. She is still carrying the weight of an unthinkable loss—the sudden, traumatic accident that took her father’s life, which she witnessed in their home. And as if that were not enough, she is currently unable to work due to serious health challenges, including complications from an appendectomy and an ongoing battle with lupus.
Despite all of this, Nadine has not given up on herself or her future. She is actively looking for work as her health allows, and she is taking online college courses to become a social worker—driven by the same desire that has always guided her: to help others who are struggling.
But right now, the ground beneath her is slipping away.
She is just days away from losing most of her belongings because she is approximately $1,000 behind on her storage unit bill. One of her three beloved dogs—her constant companions through grief and illness—is sick, passing blood, not eating, and urgently needs veterinary care. She has already lost her car, and she is at risk of losing her phone, which is her only connection to doctors, job opportunities, school, and the outside world.
The weight of these immediate crises has become overwhelming.
Nadine is asking for help not because she lacks determination, but because she needs breathing room—space to stabilize her health, protect what little she has left, and continue working toward a future where she can once again stand on her own and serve others.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
• Preventing the loss of her remaining belongings
• Getting urgent medical care for her dog
• Keeping her phone active so she can stay connected to care, work, and school
• Relieving the immediate financial pressure that is standing in the way of her recovery
If you are able to give, please know that your kindness will do more than cover bills—it will help restore hope, dignity, and stability to someone who has spent her life giving those very things to others.
And if you cannot give, sharing this fundraiser is also a meaningful act of support.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping Nadine through this incredibly difficult chapter.
