Help Nadine Rebuild After the Hurricane — A Kind Soul Who Once Helped Us
Sometimes, a single act of kindness stays with you forever.
When my husband collapsed in our hotel room one evening, even as an M.D., I was still just a human — watching the person I love lying unconscious on the floor. I was terrified and alone. As I called the front desk for help, there was a knock on the door — it was Nadine Watson, the housekeeper doing her evening rounds.
Without hesitation, Nadine stepped in to help. She held my husband’s legs while I called for assistance. I quickly explained how to place him in a Trendelenburg position to improve circulation as he began to regain consciousness but remained weak. Nadine followed my instructions calmly and stayed by our side until help arrived. She paused her own work for nearly two hours that night, putting a stranger’s wellbeing before her own comfort or schedule.
Now, Nadine needs our help.
Recently, her home in Jamaica was wiped out by Hurricane Melissa , leaving her family homeless and living in a shelter. Nadine works tirelessly in the U.S. as a hotel housekeeper, separated from her loved ones, doing everything she can to support them from afar. Despite her struggles, she continues to work hard and stay hopeful — the same kindness she once shared with us still shines through.
This fundraiser is our chance to give back to someone who gave so selflessly.
Every donation will go directly toward helping Nadine’s family rebuild their home and restart their lives after the devastating storm. No amount is too small. Let’s come together to return the kindness that Nadine so freely gave.
