My name is Rick, and I’m reaching out to you on behalf of a wonderful person and my oldest friend, Nadina. Recently, her entire hometown of Jasper, Alberta was destroyed - flattened completely - by a catastrophic wildfire that swept through, leaving nothing but ashes in its wake. Nadina lost everything she owns.

Nadina is not just a teacher; she’s the kind of person who always goes the extra mile, making sure every child feels valued and encouraged. Her sunny disposition and kindness are what drew her to teaching, and kids in her class were lucky to have her.

Now, Nadina needs help. She’s starting from scratch, having lost her home, car, personal belongings, and countless things that can never be replaced. The road to rebuilding is long and challenging, but with our support, we can help Nadina get back on her feet and return to doing what she loves most—teaching and inspiring children. In this case, children who have also experienced this devastating loss.

We are aiming to raise at least $3000 to help cover the costs of basic necessities, temporary housing, and to begin the process of rebuilding her life. I doubt that's enough to make things right, but it's a start. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference. Here’s how your contributions will help:

• Immediate Needs: Clothing, food, and other essentials to help Nadina get through this first phase.

• Temporary Housing: Providing a safe place for Nadina to stay while she begins to rebuild her home. She will stay with friends for now, but will have to find somewhere else very soon.

• Classroom Supplies: Helping Nadina replace the materials and resources she uses to create an engaging and enriching learning environment for her students. Her laptop - packed with lesson plans and materials - is now a melted blob.
