ABOUT!
We are Kay & Harriet, two friends and community organisers in Cardiff, and alongside a group of community members we are raising urgent funds on behalf of our dear friend Nadheem.
Nadheem has been a staunch pillar of the community, many of you will have known him through his poetry, his artwork, his writing and his activism.
ASYLUM CASE DENIED!!
Unfortunately, the UK government refuses to recognise the danger posed to Nadheem as a trans masculine individual if he is sent back to India, and has therefore denied his asylum case. The Home Office have decided to give him 45 DAYS to vacate the country, and have denied him the right to appeal his asylum case.

The Indian Penal Code was recently replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita which has removed previous provisions that were in place to safeguard trans people, specifically against sexual assault. (2025) - link

WHAT HAPPENS NOW??
As a result, one of the few options left to us as a community is to get him enrolled as a student on a Masters course.
This will allow him to remain in the country until he can apply for Indefinite Leave To Remain. Unless he can find the money in 45 days to pay this, he will not be able to return back to the UK and continue building the amount of years required for permanent residency (Indefinite Leave to Remain).
Unfortunately, the Higher Education system in the UK also charges extortionate charges for international students, which is why we have created this GoFundMe to call on you - our beloved community for aid.
We have until 15th October 2025 to raise these funds.
Anything you can give goes a long way in helping give Nadheem the safety, security and dignity that he, and so many others, deserves.
If you have ever benefited from Nadheem's artwork, his writing, his tattoos, his community activism, or his work in the international liberation movements, please consider donating, fundraising, and SHARING to help us safeguard our community.
COST BREAKDOWN:
£16,900 - Tuition fees for one year
£776 - NHS surcharge (yes, international students are paying for the NHS!) and it’s not even going to the NHS!!
£490 - Student visa cost
£500-800 - return flights to India
When the government decides that one of us is less than - they do not protect us. We protect us.
Amplify and share as far and wide as you can.
Love and solidarity.
Diolch.
