Hi, my name is Nadeze Connelly, and I’m reaching out for help during one of the most difficult times of my life. I am currently in a custody battle for my 9-year-old daughter, fighting to obtain full custody to ensure her safety, stability, and well-being.

My daughter’s father has a history of domestic violence toward me and struggles with substance abuse issues. Despite these challenges, I’ve always tried to maintain a peaceful co-parenting relationship and follow our custody agreement for the sake of our child.

Unfortunately, on November 1st, he violated our custody agreement and refused to return my daughter to me. When I went to pick her up on November 3rd, as we had agreed, he became confrontational and aggressive. When he advanced toward me despite my repeated requests for space, I was forced to defend myself with my taser and leave for my safety. I immediately contacted law enforcement to report the incident.

Since then, both of us have filed restraining orders, and the court has set a new hearing date for November 25th to determine custody arrangements. I am doing everything I can to protect my daughter and provide her with a stable, safe, and loving environment — but I need help.

I am raising funds to cover legal fees so I can secure proper representation for this upcoming court date. Having an attorney is critical to showing the court that the current custody arrangement is not in my daughter’s best interest. My goal is to give her the safe, structured home she deserves and protect her from exposure to unsafe individuals, drug use, and instability.

When I’m not fighting this battle, I work as a chef at a mental health and substance use treatment center. I dedicate my days to nourishing others with love and cooking, helping people heal through food and compassion. Just as I pour love into my work, I am deeply dedicated to caring for and protecting my daughter with the same heart and strength.
