Dear Friends,

I’m reaching out to you today to ask for your support in helping my friend, Nadene, cover the cost of an urgent procedure.

In 2019, Nadene first felt a dull pain in her throat. After checking in the mirror, she saw a small lump that grew more noticeable with swallowing. Concerned, she quickly made an appointment with her doctor.

Blood tests and a biopsy revealed a small adenoid near the thyroid area. The doctor recommended yearly check-ups to monitor any changes. While things remained relatively stable for a few years, in 2023 the pain worsened, and the lump began to grow significantly.

In November 2024, after persistent discomfort, Nadene returned to the doctor. An ultrasound showed that the lump had grown into a nodule in the right lobe of the thyroid, with multiple calcifications and cystic changes. A biopsy has been scheduled for December 19, 2024, to determine the nature of the nodule and guide the next steps in treatment.

Unfortunately, due to being unemployed for the past six months and unable to secure a job, she does not have insurance coverage for this procedure. The total cost for the biopsy, lab work, and

associated fees is $3,000 CAD, and she simply cannot afford it.

Here’s how the money will be used:

We are asking for any help, no matter how small, to assist my friend in covering these costs and getting the essential care she needs. Your contribution will help determine what steps need to be taken next and whether further treatment is required.
