Hello all, my name is Natalie, and I am running this fundraiser for Nada and her family, who live in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza. I have now been in contact with the family for a year and a half.

The Ibrahim Al-Awar family have survived almost two years in of unrelenting horror. They have been trapped in an ever-worsening cycle of brutal attacks; displacements from unsafe place to unsafe place; sickness, injury, hunger. They have lost their livelihoods. They are grieving the deaths of friends and family, all while in a state of constant fear for their own lives.

 

The shameful, ongoing failure of the international community to intervene in this manmade nightmare means that daily life continues to grow more and more desperate. While talking to Nada over the time we’ve been in contact, it’s been devastating to see how exhausted she and her family have become. It is very, very hard for them to hold onto hope. This makes their need for support, in all forms, all the more urgent. I am forever grateful for your donations, no matter how small, and your shares of this campaign link.

Nada’s story in her own words:

“Hello, my name is Nada, I am 25 years old from Gaza, from a family of 7 members, after suffering for more than a year and a half of hunger, siege, displacement and migration, and after losing everything, our life has become dependent on your generous donations to buy food, drink and basic needs for my family. We have lost our source of income, our work and everything we saved, in addition to the martyrdom and injury of many of my relatives. It is possible that we have become a burden on you due to the long period of war and the suffering we are going through, but we have no solution left except to ask for help from you. Every dollar may contribute to alleviating a great burden on us. I hope that you will not forget me in your donations and assistance, which is the reason for completing our lives and alleviating our suffering.”
