Nada Ilic is a 47-year-old woman whose life has been shaped by hardship, yet filled with strength and resilience. Originally from Serbia, she immigrated to the United States over 20 years ago, fleeing the war in the Balkans that deeply impacted her family. Now a single mother, Nada is raising her 20-year-old daughter Mina, a bright and beautiful young woman who is pursuing her college education part-time. Unfortunately, financial struggles caused by Nada's ongoing medical battles have made it difficult for her daughter to attend school full-time.

Nada is fighting stage 2 metastatic breast cancer, a condition that requires ongoing, costly treatment. However, she is unable to afford the medical care she desperately needs. With limited access to state-funded insurance, she is unable to receive the full spectrum of treatment required for her condition. In addition to her cancer, Nada also suffers from severe orthopedic back pain that prevents her from working, further compounding her financial struggles. She receives no support from her former spouse and is struggling to make ends meet.

Despite the challenges she faces, Nada remains an incredibly positive and loving person. She has a wonderful physician who has made significant progress with her treatment, but without the financial resources to continue, her progress is at risk. Nada is a woman of deep faith, with a kind heart and a sharp mind. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, traveling when possible, and listening to music. A gifted mathematician, she finds solace in solving complex math problems during her free time.

Nada’s situation is urgent, and she is in desperate need of help. She has always been a fighter, but now she needs the support of others to continue her battle against cancer and to ensure her daughter can pursue her dreams. Any assistance—whether for medical treatment, living expenses, or educational support for her daughter—would be a lifeline for Nada and her family, offering them the chance to rebuild and move forward with hope.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 to help Nada cover the costs of her ongoing cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, medications, doctor’s visits, and travel expenses. Currently, Nada's treatment has been $18,000 that have gone towards innovative specialized treatment in Mexico. Your contribution would help offset the costs of flights, housing, labs, oncology medicine and chemotherapy.
