Nacho Libre Cheese, our beloved Lionhead Rabbit, has been a cherished member of our family. Recently, Nacho was diagnosed with arthritis in his hips, knees, and elbows, which has made mobility challenging for him. We discovered his condition after he went into stasis due to pain, prompting an urgent visit to the vet. Since then, Nacho has been on a rigorous treatment plan to manage his arthritis and stasis, including multiple medications and regular vet checkups.

At just 3 years old, Nacho has a lot of life ahead of him. Rabbits can live much longer than many people realize, with the oldest known rabbit reaching 18 years. Providing proper care for rabbits is already a challenging task, as many small pets often don't receive the care they need due to misinformation. However, we are committed to giving Nacho the best life possible, ensuring he receives everything he needs to thrive.

His daily care routine is extensive, involving critical care feedings and a variety of medications including tramadol, gabapentin, chloramphenicol, meloxicam, maropitant, Cosequin, Vet Omega, and eye drops. Additionally, Nacho requires special accommodations in his enclosure, such as extra padding and potentially ramps to ease his movement. The cost of his initial vet visits was substantial, and ongoing treatments continue to strain our finances. As a young couple just getting on our feet financially, these unexpected expenses have been challenging.
