Help Nacha Cover Unexpected Vet Bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nacha
I’m fundraising to help cover unexpected vet bills after a traumatic dog park experience involving my rescue dog, Buttercup.
On June 1st, another dog at the park attacked Buttercup in the face. The owner never warned me or took responsibility. I still don’t understand why they didn’t properly train or control their dog — and they didn’t even say anything after the incident. Buttercup was shaken but tried to stay calm.
But then, on June 2nd, everything changed. Surrounded by a lot of dogs and still traumatized, Buttercup unexpectedly reacted and attacked another dog. This is completely out of character for her — she’s usually social and gentle. I believe the fear and stress from the first attack pushed her over the edge.
I adopted Buttercup from a shelter last year. She had been abandoned and homeless for three weeks, and we’ve been working hard to build trust and confidence. After this incident, she’s now struggling with fear and anxiety, and I’ve made the decision to keep her away from group settings for now and focus on one-on-one training and healing.
Even though the situation was complex, I took full responsibility for the vet bills, which came to $1,504. I had to put it all on my credit card, and I’m doing my best to handle it, but it’s a big financial burden.
If you can donate anything — even just a small amount — it would go directly toward the vet bill and support Buttercup’s ongoing training and recovery. I’m fully committed to helping her become the confident, safe, and happy dog I know she can be.
