SUPPORT OUR NEXT GENERATION OF OCEAN STEWARDS!!
Nā Waʻa Mauō uses waʻa (canoes) to care for our oceans and next generation of ocean stewards. Our mission is to perpetuate the practices of our Kūpuna (ancestors) with a vision of fleets of waʻa caring for Moananuiākea.
Annually, we attend the Gathering of the Voyagers in Kīhei, Maui to immerse our students in cultural exchanges, waʻa practices, and ocean voyages.
We are reaching out to our ocean community to help support our youth so they can attend the Gathering of the Voyagers (08/23-08/25), share their waʻa stories, and learn from our ocean elders.
Your contribution will enable us to bring 3 staff and 12 haumana and their ʻohana (families) from Hilo, Hawaiʻi to attend the Gathering of the Voyagers and enable us to support the next generation of ocean stewards.
He Waʻa Au, He Waʻa Kākou - I am Waʻa, We are Waʻa.
