Help MZ Crew get to Hollywood Bound Competition, Sydney 2025

I am the director of Movement Zone and the instructor for our amazing MZ dance crew.

The MZ Crew is a diverse regional dance group part of a vibrant and energetic community at Movement Zone Studio in Castlemaine. The crew consists of seven dancers aged between 14 and 18 who have trained together for 5 to 10 years. During this time, they have performed throughout Central Victoria, showcasing their dynamic styles, including hip-hop, funk, contemporary dance, and breakdancing.

Some of their performance highlights include:

- ‘Youth Live for Life’ to raise awareness of youth mental health

- Pride events

- School workshops

- Mount Alexander Youth Awards

- Macedon Ranges Battle of the Bands

- Castlemaine State Festival and Fringe Festival

- Various youth festivals and events

- Impromptu flash mobs to bring joy and vibrancy to the community

The MZ Crew is a leader in the dance community, consistently exceeding expectations in their roles at Movement Zone. They have actively engaged in various events—whether volunteering, assisting in classes, or advocating for the dance industry. Some members are now employed as teachers, training and inspiring the next generation of dancers.

This dedicated group is eager to represent Central Victoria as they prepare to compete at the Hollywood Bound event from August 15 to 18, 2025, in Sydney, Australia. This will be there very first competition as a group.

To support these extraordinarily talented and hardworking dancers, I am looking to raise funds for their trip. Many of the students and I will be organising various fundraisers to help gather additional support. Any contribution you can make is greatly appreciated!
