Help Myria’s Family Repair Their Only Vehicle

Hey there, I’m Myria. Not usually one to ask for help, but life’s been throwing some serious curveballs lately and I’m running out of options.

So get this - we finally saved up enough to buy a used 2010 Honda Odyssey for our family. Three kids and a disabled husband means we absolutely need reliable transportation. We had the van for a whopping 10 days (yes, you read that right) before the transmission started making this awful grinding noise and the alternator decided to join the “let’s break down” party. The universe has a twisted sense of humor sometimes.

I’ve been working two jobs trying to keep everything afloat - my remote day job plus delivery gigs on the side. But now without a working vehicle, I can’t even do the delivery work that was helping us. Talk about a catch-22. Need money to fix the car, need the car to make the money. Cool cool cool.

The mechanic says we’re looking at about $2000 for both the transmission rebuild and alternator replacement. Which feels like so much right now with how our finances are stretched.

My husband hasn’t been able to find any job he can do yet because his disability limits him. Even with the disability payments, at this rate it’s going to take A YEAR to save what we need. Our three kiddos are amazing and understanding beyond their years, but we’re all starting to feel the strain.

If you can help even a little bit, I promise it goes directly to getting our family vehicle back on the road so I can get back to working both jobs. Any extra will go toward building an emergency fund so hopefully we don’t end up in this situation again.

I know everyone’s going through tough times right now, but if you’ve ever been stuck without transportation with three kids and limited options, you know the desperation.

Thank you for even reading this far. Seriously. And if you can spare anything at all, we’d be forever grateful. If not, maybe just send some good vibes our way that this transmission holds together once we get it fixed!

With so much gratitude,
Myria & Family
