Help Mylinh with the funeral and other expenses
Donation protected
My best friend of 34 years, Mylinh Luong, lost her beloved father (Quanh Hy Luong) on Sunday, May 23rd at 630pm Dallas time. He passed nine days before his 90th birthday. Mylinh has been his personal caretaker while working full time and giving back to the community through the Orchid Giving Circle and the Midwest Food Bank Texas.
When Mylinh was six years old, her family joined the unprecedented wave of nearly two million people who fled Vietnam after the Communist takeover. They survived a harrowing journey, losing all possessions and very nearly their lives, to pirates, drowning and starvation. The Luong survived and were sponsored by a Catholic church to the US, where they first settled in Richmond, Virginia and then Dallas, Texas. Mylinh is the youngest of five children and she is the primary caretaker of her elderly parents and older brother, who has Parkinson's and mental health illness.
For those of us who know Mylinh, we know her as an unconditional giver. Though life has been very challenging, she shows up for others with a smile, soup, eggrolls, and egg custard. She constantly goes the extra mile to help others without expecting anything in return.
She now needs our help with funeral and other expenses. Please keep Mylinh and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
