Myles Strand's home, motorized scooter/wheelchair, and every belonging was destroyed last week by the devastating Camp Fire that wiped out his town of Paradise, where he had resided since 1991.
We (the Stewart family) have known Myles Strand since his youth as a typical teen. He frequently hung out in our garage with my brother John, jamming (John on drums and Myles on guitar). He was, and still is, one of the kindest, passionate, and positive individuals we know!
Myles later enjoyed many successes as a session guitarist, enjoyed drawing, and had two beautiful kids, Trenton and Myah. He looked forward to beginning an apprenticeship as a tattoo artist when a progressive form of multiple sclerosis (MS) robbed him of his mobility and and much of his functional abilities. He was married for 21 years (recently divorced), and this year, his father Rocky passed away shortly after his step-mother died (his birth mother passed away when he was young). Myles has no family now in California aside from his two young kids who are unable to provide for him.
Myles lives off a meager income from disability, which didn't even cover all of his medical needs prior to the fire. He is being relocated to a care facility near Modesto CA near John, but he has nothing. Myles currently needs funds for clothing, food, relocation, a new scooter/wheelchair, medications, and other medical equipment/costs to help him optimally function with his MS. Please help and share this far and wide!! Let him know he is loved and his constant positivity is not in vain.
