Support for Myles Mitti's Recovery from PML

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Mitti Mabena, I am writing on behalf of my beloved son, Myles Mitti. Myles, is a bright 25-year-old, who has always been full of life, and ambition to succeed in life. Myles is studying Arts at TCC in Fort Worth Texas. He is also passionate about sports, and he has a special love for soccer. He dreamed of one day playing professionally for Barcelona, idolizing his hero, Neymar. He even nicknamed himself "NeyMyles," a testament to his passion for the sport.

But life took an unimaginable turn on August 4th, 2024. Myles was involved in an auto accident while on his way to work, and since then, our world has been changed forever. Myles has been diagnosed with Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare and devastating condition that affects the brain's membrane. In the span of just two months, this disease has robbed him of his memory, his vision, and his ability to live independently.

Myles requires 24-hour care. He has been in and out of the hospital repeatedly, with no steady recovery in sight. As a single father, it is incredibly challenging for me to manage his care while also working to support us. To make matters even more difficult, Myles does not have health insurance, which has severely limited his access to rehabilitation services. No hospital has been able to find him a rehabilitation facility due to this lack of coverage.

That’s why I’m turning to you for help. We are seeking donations to the Myles M. Mitti Fund to cover his growing medical expenses, secure the rehabilitation he so desperately needs, and provide for the caregiver services that will allow him to live with some level of comfort and care.

Myles was once a towering 6'2" athlete, strong and full of dreams. Today, he is fighting a battle for his life. We believe that with the right care and support, there is hope for his recovery and a chance to reclaim some of what this devastating disease has taken from him.
