Hi, my name is Myleigh, and I’m currently a student at the University of Cincinnati. This has been one of the most exciting yet challenging times of my life, but I’ve hit a financial wall that I can’t get through alone. I’m need to pay $6,600 to cover the rest of my tuition for this semester, which I need to have paid by November 9th in order to stay enrolled and to be able to schedule for spring classes.
I’ve been trying everything I can to make this work on my own. I’ve talked to financial aid multiple times; the last time for over an hour; and they told me honestly that my best option would be to get a loan. I’ve applied for several, but because I don’t have credit or a cosigner, I’ve been denied every time. I’ve asked around, but I completely understand that’s a big thing to ask of anyone, especially when everyone has their own financial responsibilities.
My parents have been supportive in every way they can, but they’re going through their own financial difficulties right now. I’ve tried the Parent PLUS loan, applied for scholarships, and done everything possible; but at this point, I’ve run out of options. I honestly didn’t realize how expensive this year would be, especially living on campus, and I’m just trying my best to figure things out as I go.
I feel embarrassed even asking for help because I’ve always wanted to handle things myself. But I love where I am, and I’ve worked so hard to get here. I’m doing well in school, and I have more scholarships and grants coming next semester; they just need to see my first-semester grades first. I’m confident I’ll earn them, but I have to make it through this semester first.
I don’t take this lightly at all; this is my education, my dream, and something I’ve been working toward since day one. If you’re able to help, even a little, it would mean so much to me. Whether that’s through donating or just sharing this link, I’d be beyond grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read this ❤️
