Myla Lu’s Next Steps:

Today, they performed an ultrasound on Myla Lu’s GI tract, stomach, and surrounding areas. They found that some lymph nodes near her pancreas have doubled in size. While the ultrasound couldn’t confirm it, the concern is that she may have a tumor in her pancreas.

However, they also say it could be Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition that affects digestion. If that’s the case, with the right medication and a special diet, she could heal tremendously and live a happy, healthy life!

In addition, they found that her stomach is extremely inflamed from medications, and there’s a high probability she has ulcers. Treating this with the right meds could bring her much-needed comfort while she heals.

Our next step is a CT scan, which will help us get more answers and determine the best course of action for her care. And of course, we will do whatever it takes to help our girl get better.

Through it all, Myla Lu is still her sweet, happy beautiful self. She wags her tail, greets everyone with love, and brings us so much joy every day. Her spirit is strong, and that gives us even more reason to fight for her.

Our Myla Lu has been through a lot these last few months. On Jan 17, she suddenly stopped eating and has been throwing up. She’s had ultrasounds, bloodwork, X-rays, an endoscopy, and biopsies done. She’s been on a feeding tube for the last 3-4 weeks. She has had many appointments and trips to our vet and to MedVet in Cleveland. We still don’t know what’s going on. She’s still not eating, she’s still throwing up.

Tonight (3/24) she threw up blood which landed us at MedVet for an emergency visit. They did more bloodwork, which showed lots of elevated numbers. She is now anemic, she’s losing blood, and has a lot of inflammation in her GI tract. They highly recommend her being hospitalized for what could be a couple of days so they can closely monitor her. So, that’s what we did.

We have spent thousands of dollars on meds, tests, procedures, food, gas, etc. And we have spent hours driving to and from Cleveland, and time away from work. We just want our girl back. Anything helps... and if you can’t donate, please share. Thank you.
