Help Mykul Archambault and His Family

Donation protected
On January 13, 2021, my 52-year-old nephew, Michael (aka Mykul) Archambault, went to the emergency room because he was having trouble with his speech.  A CT scan revealed a brain tumor.  Subsequently, on January 15, a craniotomy was performed and pathology confirmed a glioblastoma multiforme, a brutal form of malignant brain cancer that is always terminal. Examinations by multiple neurosurgeons and consultations with a Brain Tumor Center confirmed that the tumor is inoperable and that his life expectancy is, at best, 3 months.  Upon being discharged to home on January 18, the family provided round-the-clock care until February 7, when he began to experience severe pain and pressure in his head. It was then necessary to admit him to the hospital for pain control.  Another CT scan was performed and showed the tumor has grown quite rapidly. Today, he was transferred to a Hospice facility where the staff’s main goal is to keep him as comfortable as possible.  The family has been told that his organs will begin to shut down soon and his life will end soon afterwards.

Mykul has had sole physical custody of his children for the past 2 years.  In addition, he took on the role of substitute father to two of his nephews when their father died suddenly 8 years ago and a friend’s daughter, when her father died in a car accident 2 years ago.  Family is everything to him. Mykul has always loved children and his house was filled with neighborhood kids daily.  He wanted to teach them to be good, responsible people and to set an example as a parent for them.  Whether playing video games, watching tv, teaching them music or building robots and computers, Mykul loved the time he spent with each and every one of them.  In years past, Mykul was a pre-school teacher, a computer expert and he had recently discovered joy in repairing small motors, a talent he wanted to share with his children.

During this difficult time, the family is trying to make sure that his children can remain in their home and avoid uprooting them from their familiar surroundings and friends. Mykul rents his home and has no savings or life insurance.  It is my hope that you may be able to help in this endeavor and that is why, after much urging from friends, I have started this GoFundMe page.  Any donations will be used specifically to keep his family in their home and to meet any medical bills, funeral expenses and the needs of his children.  These are challenging times and there is no pressure to contribute. But if you are abIe to, it is a wonderful gesture on Mykul’s behalf and one that is truly appreciated. Regardless, please pray for Mykul, his children and our family.  Our wish is that Mykul be pain-free and pass peacefully when the time has come. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers and all of the shared memories more than you can imagine.
