Help Mykel Fight Against Breast Cancer

In July 2020, Mykel was diagnosed with triple-negative Stage 3 Breast Cancer. She had a large 6x4x4 cm tumor on her upper right side and an enlarged lymph node. Beginning in February 2021 until June 2021 she underwent eight biweekly infusions of chemotherapy.

Once the tumor shrank, she had surgery for a total mastectomy on her right side. The surgery was a success and on July 27, 2021 she was declared cancer-free with no radiation needed.

Mykel still has a drain in her and meets with her oncologist regularly in the hope of removal soon. While Mykel and her family are grateful for the cancer-free diagnosis, this has been a challenging time and she has quite the medical journey ahead with check-ups and smaller procedures.
