Help myhusband LaurentBrigas hospitalized@Mexico

My husband Laurent Bigras has been victim of our health system in Montreal. He was giving a neuropathic diagnostic by 4 doctor’s including his oncologist. He attended different appointments and the emergency department of Hospital Sacré-Coeur de Montréal.

Despite the fact he was diagnosed with lymphoma in stage 4 back in October 2020, they didn’t think other test needed to be done. We were sent back home with anti inflammatories and some morphine.

We travelled to enjoy spring break vacation to Mexico and it turned to a real nightmare.

My husband is hospitalized at Hospital Español in Mexico City since March 15th. After being able to control the severe pain with high doses of morphine, an NRI reflected a tumour of almost 40cm on his back. They had to practice a extremely difficult biopsy to release some space from his lung and his orthus vein and to take some tissue to stablish a diagnostic.

The results came after a week. The news we didn’t want to hear: lymphoma.

He needs a treatment as soon as possible, but his condition is not allowing him to travel back to Montreal. The response from the insurance is really slow and his life is holding for administrative procedures and approvals!

My family is splited as I had to send back my kids to Montreal so they can continue with their school and activities. My heart is broken as I cannot hug them and tell them all will be fine.

I’m asking the authorities to take this situation on their hands so my husband can get the treatment he deserves!

I’m without revenue as my doctor doesn’t want to give me a virtual appointment as I’m outside the country.

I had to cover for doctor’s fees and medication. I have to send money for my kids in Montreal to cover their daily expenses.
