Mycki’s Story

For those who know Mycki, you know her heart is as big as they come—always the first to help someone in need, and never one to ask for help themselves. Only a few years ago, she had to deal with the loss of her mother to cancer and also her beloved cat. Now, she is the one who needs our support.

Over the past few weeks, Mycki has been battling ongoing health issues, but things took a serious turn when she was hospitalized with renal failure caused by IgA Nephropathy, a rare and chronic kidney condition. Since then, she has remained in the hospital undergoing intensive treatment, tests, and procedures while doctors work to stabilize their condition.

Because of the severity of her illness and the demanding treatment schedule, Mycki is unable to work. This means no income to cover medical bills, rent, utilities, transportation to future treatments, or basic living expenses.

She has been fighting so hard just to remain calm while the doctors try to help get her to a place where she might not need dialysis, but at this point, it is unknown. What is known, however, is that this is something she will be fighting the rest of her life. Once she is well enough to leave the hospital, she will need to take steps to not only maintain her health but also to sort out her bills, job, and food with a new renal diet. Now, we’re asking for your help so she doesn't have to fight this financial burden alone.
