Hi this is Mya, my mom Kelli has ulcerative colitis and was hospitalized for 10 days due to complications with this disease. She has been dealing with this on going flare since November, but kept working & kept going to take care of us and with being the holidays. She just took a turn for the worse over the weekend & her Dr. hospitalized her immediately. Her 2nd infusion is sometime this week and she has two more after that! She also has a procedure too on the 29th. The Dr’s, nurses, and staff took real good care of her so she could finally come home to us!!! ❤️She went through a lot of pain and hasn’t got any sleep and now it’s hard for to sleep at night due to the prednisone. She just started her new really great job two weeks ago and does not yet have any sick leave or paid time off. She has filed for short term disability just waiting on the decision for that. This is going to make it hard on my mom right now being a single mom and with rent, utilities, and expenses being due first of the month and everything else on top of car problems as well. Also with food expenses and care for my 10 year old little brother. She doesn’t receive any food assistance or any other help. Anything would help us at the moment so she can get better and not have to worry financially as she continues to get better in the hospital. Continued thought and prayers for my mom I know she is strong and will get through this. She doesn’t like asking for help but I know this would really help her and not be so stressed and get back to being healthy. Me and my brothers just want our mom back home happy & healthy!
