Help Needed for Earthquake Victims in Myanmar
The recent earthquake in Myanmar has left survivors in unimaginable conditions. Buildings continue to collapse, and the corrupt regime forcibly kidnaps young people to join the military. We’re hearing from friends and family on the ground that people are without basic necessities: no medicine, no clean water, and hospitals are in ruins.
On a personal note, my family and I are facing a difficult time as my father is in hospice care at home, battling dementia. My mother, who is his primary caretaker, has one heartfelt wish: to help the people of Myanmar. She has asked that we channel our energy into supporting those affected by this crisis, and I’m doing everything I can to honor that request.
This is why I’m reaching out to you — to ask for your support in raising funds for the survivors. Your donation will go directly to those in need, helping provide:
• Medicine for the injured
• Food, water, and essential supplies
• Rebuilding efforts for homes and hospitals
I understand that Myanmar might not always be in the spotlight, and as a Burmese person, I feel the weight of that silence. But I believe that together, we can amplify their voices and make a difference. Maybe I’m the only Burmese person you know, or maybe you simply want to offer comfort to my incredible mother. Whatever the reason, your contribution matters.
Please, donate anything you can. Every dollar will help bring relief to those in dire need.
I've picked this organization because my family has ties to this Buddhist monastery in Dallas. The Myanmar Buddhist monk in charge grew up in Mandalay and ensures that the government does not skim from the money raised.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
