My 12-year-old chihuahua, Mya Louise, has been my emotional support and constant companion through so many difficult times. Recently, I had to rush her to urgent care because she was having trouble breathing. After her initial evaluation and several tests, the veterinarians told me that Mya is in heart failure. To help her recover and manage her condition, she needs to see a cardiologist for follow-up care and will likely need ongoing treatment for the rest of her life.

Before even seeing the cardiologist, our emergency room and urgent care bill is already overwhelming. With the cost of medications, follow-up appointments with a cardiologist, and regular visits to her veterinarian, the expenses are only going to increase. Mya is truly my baby, and I can’t imagine life without her. She has been there for me as my emotional support through so much, and I want to do everything I can to help her get better.

Unfortunately, I was recently in a car accident where I lost my brakes going down a hill and hit three cars. I sustained serious injuries, including six bulging discs in my neck that have caused nerve issues, numbness, and problems with my balance and walking. Because of these injuries, I have not been able to work, and our family finances are stretched too thin to cover Mya’s medical needs.
