My little cousin is only 18 years old, and he has already faced more challenges than most people do in a lifetime. Over the past months, he has been hospitalized multiple times, and after countless tests, our family received the devastating news that he is battling Lupus. Because it was discovered in such an advanced stage, his organs are now failing, and he urgently needs surgery and dialysis to survive.

He and his family live in Honduras, where poverty makes it nearly impossible to access the kind of care he desperately needs. The public hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and we want to give him a fighting chance by moving him to a private hospital where he can receive better treatment and attention. Every day is a struggle, and the costs for medical care, surgeries, and ongoing dialysis are far beyond what our family can afford.

Watching someone so young go through so much pain is heartbreaking. No family is ever truly prepared for something like this, emotionally or financially. The medical treatments, surgeries, and dialysis are overwhelming, but his will to keep fighting is stronger than anything.
