My close friend has worked diligently these past two years in our MFA, but she is $3000 short of being able to walk at graduation. She is a talented storyteller, and a wonderful person. Her fiction centers people of color, immigrants, and LGBTQ characters. Such necessary stories. This would be her first time experiencing a graduation ceremony, and she deserves this moment.
