Help my wife obtain her green card
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Drew Ford. I am reaching out because my wife Kiki and I need a little help. We have been together since 2010, and have been married since 2018. She is from Japan, and the process of obtaining her green card has been a long, difficult, and very expensive process. The legal fees, and government application fees, are unbelievable. After already putting thousands of dollars into these fees, we were shocked to find out we had to come up with another $5000 in legal fees and federal application fees. We budgeted the best we could for most of what we already paid, but these new fees were unexpected.
The worst part is, according to our attorney, the government has made a new change to such applications (announced just recently on February 5) that will make it very difficult for anyone applying for a green card if they don’t get their application submitted by February 24. It wouldn’t be impossible, but it would take much longer and be much more expensive from that point forward. So we have to come up with all this extra money before that date. We were NOT expecting this!
I created a GoFundMe account to ask for help. Any amount, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. It's been especially difficult for my wife because during this process, when she is what they call "in-process", she can remain in the country with me, but she can't legally work, can't get health insurance, can't really do anything. It's very frustrating, and we just wanna get everything submitted and done, so she can move forward with her life. If you can afford any amount to help us out, we'd really appreciate it. And if not, no worries. Thank you and take care.
