Help My Wife Recover From Life-Changing Tibia Surgery
Asking for help like this is not easy, but we are at a point where we can’t do this alone.
My wife is facing a long and difficult medical journey that could not have been prevented if her original injury had been treated properly.
Years ago, she suffered a tibia injury that did not receive appropriate care at the time. As a result of poor treatment and incorrect healing, the bone healed improperly. Over the years, this caused progressive deformity in her skeletal structure from her hips down, affecting her alignment, mobility, and quality of life.
After extensive evaluations, doctors determined that corrective surgery is now the only option. She will need a complex tibial reconstruction using a Taylor Spatial Frame, an external fixation device that slowly grows new bone and rotates the leg back into its correct anatomical plane. This is not a short process — she will need to wear the frame for 12 to 15 months, followed by additional rehabilitation.
This is not just a surgery—it is a year or more of her life devoted entirely to healing.
During this time, she will face:
Multiple surgeries and follow-up procedures
Limited mobility and ongoing pain
Extensive physical therapy
Inability to work for a prolonged period
Significant medical and living expenses not fully covered by insurance
This surgery is necessary to prevent further deterioration, reduce pain, and give her a chance at walking and living normally again.
- We are asking for help to cover:
- Surgical and hospital costs
- Medical equipment and supplies
- Physical therapy and rehabilitation
- Travel to specialist appointments
- Lost income and daily living expenses during recovery
Any donation, no matter how small, helps lift an enormous burden off our family. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting my wife as she fights to reclaim her health and mobility.
