Hi everyone,

I’m writing this with a heavy heart about my wife, Berenice Vargas. On October 25th I took her to the ER for sharp pain in her abdomen. They did a CT scan doctors discovered a large ovarian tumor. We were very shocked and confused with the news. Watching someone you love go through something like this and not being able to help has been the hardest challenge. She’s been so strong even when the pain is unbearable. The road ahead is going to be long and draining. We will be celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary November 2nd and this was not how we thought we would be spending it.

She will need to have surgery as soon as possible as the tumor is already 17cm roughly the size of a melon. We also unfortunately do not know if it benign or malignant which is our biggest concern. While we’re doing everything we can to stay positive and focused on her recovery, the medical bills are already piling up. Between hospital visits, medications, and surgery the costs are more than we can manage on our own.

We understand times are hard for everyone. If you find it in your heart to help not just financially, but even through prayers, or positive thoughts for her.

Escribo esto con el corazón en la mano para hablarles de mi esposa, Berenice Vargas. El 25 de octubre la llevé a urgencias debido a un dolor fuerte en el abdomen. Después de hacerle una tomografía, los doctores descubrieron un tumor ovárico muy grande. La noticia nos dejó en shock y con mucha incertidumbre. Ver a la persona que amas pasar por algo así es desgarrador; ella ha sido increíblemente fuerte, incluso cuando el dolor es insoportable.

El camino que tenemos por delante será largo y cansado. El 2 de noviembre celebramos nuestro primer aniversario de casados, y nunca imaginamos pasarlo de esta manera.

Berenice necesitará una cirugía lo antes posible, ya que el tumor mide aproximadamente 17 cm, casi del tamaño de un melón. Desafortunadamente no sabemos si es maligno o benigno y eso es nuestra mayor preocupación. Aunque hacemos todo lo posible por mantener la esperanza y enfocarnos en su recuperación, los gastos médicos ya se están acumulando. Entre las visitas al hospital, los medicamentos y la cirugía, los costos son más de lo que podemos cubrir solos.
