Last month, in June, my coworker Rajot was evicted after his landlord died and ownership over his long-term housing exchanged hands. He lived in this house for 10 years. Although he now has no safe or consistent place to stay, he still continues to show up to work day after day. Living without a home has resulted in many new financial burdens which constantly drain his funds, and leaves him stranded in an extreme cycle of poverty that he is unable to lift himself out of. He is loved by all his coworkers, and we really want to help him get off the streets in hopes that his conditions don’t continue to decline. That it instead will be reversed by the help and solidarity of others in our community and beyond.

Even in these extreme circumstances, which are unfortunately all too common because of the state of this society, Rajot continues to come to work and share an incredible amount of optimism. His personality glows like and invincible lamppost in the cold morning fog. It guides us through the most difficult days in the shop. Our coworkers, including myself, wish to take this opportunity to return the favor. We can be his generator if you could only help us with some fuel.

The money you donate will be used for deposits, first and last month's rent, and furniture or appliances to recover what he lost in his previous place.

We are also raising money for another coworker who is living with a physically violent family member. There are many nights where he cannot stay at home and instead stays in the break room at work. Once the shop is locked and the alarm set for the night, he can’t even get up to use the restroom. For reasons of safety we cannot disclose his identity, but his need is immense. Please help us get him to safety. He is the backbone of our entire operation, and we need to see him returned to stability.
