My twins, Kristopher and Aubrey, from the Forest City Water Polo Club have been recently selected to play water polo with Team Canada at the international level! Kristopher has been selected to the 18U Canadian National Team that will be competing in Portugal at the 18U World Championships this June. And Aubrey has been selected to train and compete with the 17U Canadian National Development Team this July in Hungary.

It has been a dream for both Kristopher and Aubrey for as long as they can remember, to follow in the footsteps of their Grandfather and Uncle who were both on Team Canada. Their dream has finally become a reality. They are over the moon excited to represent Canada at the international level. They have been competitive water polo athletes from a very young age and now all of their hard work and dedication to their sport has finally been rewarded.

With this honour, there comes a financial cost that the athlete has to bear to be able to play at this level. For Kristopher the cost is estimated at $11,000 and for Aubrey it is estimated at $7,200. In addition to this, they both must compete for Team Ontario in the National Provincial Championship that is being held in Regina this year. The cost for this may be another $1000-1500 each.

I am so proud that both of them are achieving their goals and the fact that they are twins, travelling on the same path, following in their family footsteps, makes me so proud. It is very difficult for me to reach out to everyone and ask for any kind of contribution possible to make this a little easier for us financially, but we would be truly grateful for any help.
